IP44 is the minimum for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the immediate shower area) in most European and Australian markets. Zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower) requires IP65 or higher — we don't recommend decorative wall sconces for zone 1 applications.

For North American markets, UL damp-location listing covers the equivalent of IP44. Specify the application zone when you inquire and we'll confirm which models in the modern wall lighting range carry the appropriate rating.

The most common cause is LED binning — LEDs from the same manufacturer are sorted into color bins (MacAdam ellipses), and if a factory mixes bins within a production run, units will show visible color variation under the same light.

We specify a single bin per production batch and verify color temperature on production samples before the run completes. For buyers supplying hospitality or retail fit-out where 20+ identical fixtures will be visible simultaneously, ask us for the binning specification on your order — we document it per batch.

Standard finishes (matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel, antique brass, chrome) are available at our standard MOQ with no finish premium.

Custom RAL colors require a minimum of 100 units per finish to cover the powder line changeover cost. Custom finishes below 100 units are generally not viable — the setup economics don't work for either side. If you're building a private-label line around a specific custom color, plan your SKU quantities accordingly.

The distinction is primarily aesthetic and market positioning. "Wall sconce" is the broader category — it includes traditional, transitional, and modern styles. "Modern wall lighting" refers specifically to fixtures with clean geometric forms, minimal ornamentation, and contemporary finish options.

For sourcing purposes: if your downstream market is premium residential or hospitality fit-out with a contemporary design brief, modern wall lighting is the right category. If your catalog needs to cover multiple style registers (traditional, transitional, modern), the broader wall sconce range gives you more coverage.

For the US market: UL listing (or ETL equivalent) is required for most retail and commercial channels. We hold UL on specific models — confirm which SKUs carry UL before ordering if this is a requirement. You'll also need a Declaration of Conformity, test reports, and FCC compliance documentation if the fixture includes any wireless dimming components.

For Canada, CSA certification is the equivalent of UL. We can provide a documentation package per SKU — send us your import requirements checklist and we'll confirm coverage.

Every luminaire runs powered for a minimum burn-in period before packing. The aging test catches early-life failures: LED driver component failures, wiring faults, solder joint failures, and capacitor issues that show up in the first hours of operation.

These are the failures that would otherwise show up in your customer's installation — the kind that generate warranty claims and damage your relationship with your downstream buyers. The test doesn't catch long-term wear failures (that's what the 2-year warranty covers), but it eliminates the infant mortality failures that are the most damaging to your reputation.

Photometric verification runs on a sample basis from each batch — lumen output and color temperature are checked against the approved spec before the container loads.
